Sunday 27 April was a far sunnier day than the autumn litter pick when a good turn out of volunteers arrived at the footbridge by the Welland to don high vis, grab a bin bag and hoop and walk around our beautiful parish like Wombles collecting “things that the everyday folks leave behind”! It’s always a point of discussion as to what we pick up and from where. We certainly found less litter than the autumn collection, but maybe that’s because the hedgerows were covering more of it from sight. But it does fascinate/horrify us that someone driving along throws so much food, drink and nicotine based packaging out of their car windows! A useful couple of hours spent in the sunshine making the place tidier. Huge thanks to everyone who helped organise and participate.
