Peterborough City Council (PCC) Draft Local Plan Comments…and other news

So many of you were involved in hearing about and commenting on the PCC Draft Local Plan earlier this year.  In case you hadn’t seen it, PCC have now published a summarised list of your comments.  This covers all the sites in the draft plan, so it’s a long document.  The 1,055 proposed homes south of Market Deeping Bridge are mentioned throughout, but the main section is “LP54 Land at Deeping Gate” from page 62.

The ‘Key Issue Report’ and all the associated documents can be found here: https://www.peterborough.gov.uk/council/planning-and-development/planning-policies/local-plan-review

It is clear that your comments have been received and recorded, but we wanted to ensure you had a chance to read these.

In addition, the outline planning applications have been submitted to PCC now.  You will notice that it’s for an increased number of homes (1,100 not 1,050 as per the original proposals in the Draft Local Plan).  In addition, 150 more homes are applied for to the east of the B1524 filling in all the unbuilt land behind Maxey House along the south bank of the River Welland.  Both of these applications can be viewed here:

We will be discussing these applications at the next meeting of the Deeping Gate Parish Council on 11 November.  The applications are not yet at a stage where comments are accepted by the public, but as soon as this option becomes available, we will send out news.

Your Parish Council is here to represent your views.  Should you wish to speak to anyone about these documents, please contact us on the usual email clerk@deepinggate-pc.gov.uk or speak to one of the Parish Councillors (details on our website).
